Been using Instawork for awhile now and I enjoy the high gig rates such as $30+ an hour but tired of many places treating temps like sh*t. Got blocked at a place because my shirt was not fully ivory but was showing my undershirt a bit. So they give you a 1 star rating which automatically blocks you and you drop like 4-5 points down. If someone gives you a good rating, it only goes up like 1-2 points. Which means less than 4.0 score gives you lower paying jobs.
Went to this place for 3 days, first day they put me in a nice spot, done a good job. Second day they gave me more responsibility that I shouldn't have as a temp and rude coworkers and today I got blocked and got a bad score because I told them I wanted to be at the first spot and didn't want to take the full heavy trash. I am a female and chef wouldn't send any of the guys to do it or pulling carts.
I see other people who use this app and I guess they kiss-a** a lot but I can't do that… Especially when they treat you like an idiot, that you do temp gigs because you can't hold a job, etc. On the other hand, when these businesses give a poor rating for anything, I kinda take it personal because I feel I have no value as an employee.
Any thoughts?
