Yes I didn't answer it (because I've grown fed up of it happening so much) so maybe I deserved that, but on the other hand shouldn't they be sticking to the time specified? I understand something like 5 – 10mins late, but I've been left waiting 30mins to an hour quite a few times now. The JC bang on about punctuality but the staff don't seem to do it themselves
This is the same for the Restart course too, they also will take ages to call me as well (I usually have phone appointments with both JC and Restart). Once I had to listen to the lady I see up there, neurosplain to me about how autistics don't really get discriminated against anymore (I'm autistic, obviously ha ). Like, really b*tch…?
You know what I don't get? Why there are no work support programmes specifically for autistic people. I mean we make up a huge amount of the population, but there are very very few work programmes out there that specifically help neurodivergent people. They just seem to lump autistics in with people with Down syndrome in my experience
Anyway thanks for coming to my rant 🤪 Closing thoughts are, as an autistic and chronically unwell with physical condition/s I hate the fact people tend to judge those who struggle to sustain work. You're not superior to me because you happen to have a fancy job title, or worked “since I was 16!” (as an ex angrily said to me after I got let go of from a job). I appreciate this sub
Something that pees me off as well, is the JC and Reed will expect me to drop everything I'm doing and respond to their random calls (which can also be marked on my phone as potential fraud or spam, because they use different numbers it doesn't recognise I guess? 🤷️). No, f**king schedule in a call and take it at the time you said
