I work in a very small hole in the wall restaurant. However it gets extremely busy for what our staff can handle. ( We are really understaffed. ) Sundays is our busiest day of the week as we have somewhere between 200-300 total orders from 7-3pm. This Sunday we were swarming. We have a system were we print out tabs or checks for tables and the server brings that check to the cashier to charge for cash payments. This day since we were swarming. One of the cashiers made a mistake. Charging the wrong check. Causing like 20$ to be lost. When the owner found out she litterally flipped her shit. She sounded pissed and said “I lost over 20$ over this”. To give you an idea. I'm the shift lead/ manager and I can see how much the restaurant makes in sales. This day it was roughly 5k-6k in just 8 hours in total sales. (Not net profit I understand.) But still what the fuck. Also I heard this while I was litterally being swarmed by tables working my ass off and this bitch is mad over 20$?!?!?! The restaurant isn't my boss's only line of income. She owns plenty of apartments and is a landlord. The amount of disrespect… This cashier was the only cashier taking phone orders, charging checks, taking window orders, and when she had time packing orders. The other cashier main job is grabbing drinks/ making drinks, and calling out orders. And this day as I mentioned everyone was up to there necks in work.
