A little over two weeks ago, I was contacted about a job opportunity in the field I currently work in, but it would require a move. When I was asked about what my salary expectation was, I told the recruiter what my expectation was (my current salary) and that I would get back to them when I did some research on the area. I sent in an updated salary and thought every thing was good! They have me fill out an application and set up the interview.
I go through the interview process and knock it out of the park! After waiting 11 days, they call and give me an offer. Not only is it less than what I wanted, it’s less than what I currently make. That tells me that they ignored my update and my application. There is no way I’m moving to a more expensive city for less pay. Especially if they won’t even take the time to read my application. What is wrong with these companies?
