Take care of employees because it’s good for the company

Full disclosure, work for a business unit of a much larger public company. I enjoy the business unit but as a manager I am involved in a lot of corporate meetings and trainings. Holy shit the “rub me wrong” feeling is strong in corporate wide meetings vs our BU meeting. So much investors first feeling and let's take care of employees so they stay and work hard for the company. Nothing about taking care of people because I don't know because they're humans. Lots of hype about company culture and mottos and mantras but then turn around and say let's not do that if it doesn't have any ROI. Let's have great culture* *don't let it cost us revenues More and more I sit in these company trainings the more I see the religious cult like thinking and “motivational” speaking I stay because the Business Unit works for me, pays…

I stay because the Business Unit works for me, pays me well and BU leadership has my back (ive tested this many times BUT my skill set is in high demand) but I'll NEVER move to a corporate position because I don't want to be in that culture.
