I discovered wage/labor theft.

I work at a locally owned coffee shop/diner. One Saturday, as I’m clocking out, the owner/manager punches a bunch of numbers on his calculator and tells me I had 42.11 hours this week. I thought it was weird that he didn’t need to convert the minutes to decimals(he does everything on paper, no computer system), but maybe he just has it memorized. Just to be safe, I downloaded an app to track my hours. I tracked a full week and when I got my check for that week the numbers didn’t match up. It turns out that the owner wasn’t converting minutes to decimals. 9 hours and 30 minutes should be 9.5. He was doing 9.3. It wasn’t malicious on his part, just bad math. I decided to call the Department of Labor. My check was 1h20m short for one week. He’s been doing this for every employee for over…

He’s been doing this for every employee for over 20 years that he’s been in business. To make matters worse, he employs mentally handicapped people as dishwashers. He’s unknowingly taking advantage of mentally handicapped people.
