Helping another department only relieves admin of the urgency to find a permanent solution

I’m in an administrative position and have others above me. They decided I have a little time on my hands (I do occasionally) and asked if can I take work from another department to “help them out”. Hell NO. If I fix their problem, where’s the incentive for a permanent solution??? That would forever make ME the permanent solution. It’s never “temporary”.
