Probably the wrong sub but semi-related, I suppose. I was popped with a random, on the spot drug screen at my job (aerospace OEM in AZ) and I tested positive for THC. I've been on suspension without pay for two weeks now and my employer just emailed me this morning to schedule a virtual meeting for next week with HR. So pretty sure they're going to terminate me then.
To stay in this industry as a mechanic I have to take observed drug tests for two to five years, now, as well as that failed drug screen will be on my record for a few years.
It's just crazy to me that last month alone 50 people died in general aviation accidents, commercial pilots can have drink 8 or 12 hours before a flight, but I can't smoke a joint after a long day of work. I actually liked the job, too Super close to my house. Paying me way more than I've ever made. Pretty chill, too.
But now I'm very bitter about everything, I don't know what I'm going to do and I'm writing this just to vent, I guess.
