So I work Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays part-time for this employer. I do not recieve any benefits. The wage is just alright.
My supervisor sends me a meeting request saying there is a mandatory 1-hour in-person meeting on a Thursday. I have never worked Thursdays since being with the organization. I have a 40-minute commute – I'll be damned if I'm doing that commute on my day off for a what I know will be a stupid 1-hour long meeting. So of course I don't show up.
On Friday, supervisor sends a passive agressive email saying all were expected to attend. No way in hell you were going to catch me there.
It would be different if this was a one-off situation but this kind of nonsense happens frequently. If it continues I might need to walk. These employers really be trying to treat us like slaves.
