I know it's a meme that getting pizza for busting your ass isn't rewarding and that the appropriate response is to get paid more. But when I don't even get recognition for busting my ass aside from my manager saying “I appreciate the work you've been doing”, sometimes even the pizza would be enough of a morale boost (for me, at least) to continue out the week.
