TLDR; lied to a recruiter and said I wasn't looking for any more jobs after I took the offer, will probably take a different job in a few weeks/a month tops.
So I was laid off from my job with no notice (fucking at will employment), and as I moved recently I had very little money and needed a job in a week or less. I applied to several jobs in my field, several basic temp jobs, and several restaurant positions. I got three offers, two for restaurant work and one for a temp-to-perm gig. I told everyone involved I'd take a few days to think about which one I'd go with, and during that time I got a call for an interview in one of the jobs in my field. I decided to take the temp-to-perm gig in the short term while continuing the interview process for the other job.
While I was speaking to the recruiter about accepting the offer, he asked me, point blank, several times if I was done with my job search. I lied and said I was. He asked me to cancel any other interviews I might have. I lied and said I would. If I get the job in my field, I fully intend to leave the temp job. They don't offer vacation time or health benefits and I need Healthcare. Can I be held liable for lying to a recruiter about this?
