I finally told my toxic manager I’m leaving this week… she told me to do more work.

I need a rant. I work in insurance. My job sucks. I am writing this on company time. I took this job after a (nice and well paid) contact centre role, because I wanted to take less calls, took a paycut for it, and thought it would be great. They assured me I would only take/make a collective ten calls a day in this new role. I need a rant.
I work in insurance.
My job sucks.
I am writing this on company time.

I took this job after a (nice and well paid) contact centre role, because I wanted to take less calls, took a paycut for it, and thought it would be great.

They assured me I would only take/make a collective ten calls a day in this new role.

I've been looking to leave for a while because what they didn't tell me, is that this is just a low paid contact centre role with more responsibilities.

I had a bit of a wobble a few weeks ago (thanks, anxiety), and just broke down crying and panicking, had to take leave (unpaid, they don't pay for sick leave over 2 occasions even if they caused it – this is VERY unusual for big companies in my country) and since I got back, my manager has done nothing but pretend to care and then proceed to tell me I'm not doing enough (I'm doing the same amount, if not more, than my other colleagues. Not any more though.)

This isn't the first time I've had issues with the role. My manager had been reported on several occasions for being insanely strict and making up rules, she's already lost half her team, she picks on people she doesn't like, I literally got yelled at for asking another manager a question becuase when she was on holiday leave, i got asked to come into office despite likely having covid and working from home being easy (i didnt, but i also didnt have a test at the time), and nobody cares, because the turnaround of staff is so high, nobody will know how bad it is in a few months anyway.

This week, we got told that half the team would no longer take calls. We have a huge backlog. This sort of makes some sense.
Only issues is, they've picked the people they like best, who've already had several weeks of not taking calls this year, to do the easiest work off the phones, and everyone else has to do the complex work, all their work that they're no longer doing and all of the calls. Even on a Friday, when we're stupidly busy.

I've even been asked to do work for a member of staff who's worked i am not trained on with zero support.

I will also add, they're regarded one of the best places to work in my city. The reason? They make everyone complete the questionnaires for this award when we're in the office with managers. The proof? The only two years they didn't win was when all staff were working from home so they couldn't be watched whilst completing the survey. The dropped in the good places to work list those years, by a lot.

So I'm going back to my old workplace in a new role.
I'm genuinely looking forward to it, it's off the phones, and they're a nice company to work for.
I decided that, upon the announcement that managerial favourites would now be off the phone, I would now tell me manager I was heading off.

It's nice to know she's finally losing some power.
Got a message this morning to ask me to take more calls. I told her I was sick (I am) and I would have taken leave but can't afford it.
I am yet to receieve a response. Its been several hours.

I am hoping this is a sign she is finally giving up and will let spend my last month here quietly doing the bare minimum.
…is that too much to ask?
