At first I was really shocked. And I’m still scared about my bills and everything right now… but I feel a huge sense of relief at the same time. I’ve been wanting to leave for months and felt trapped. I think when I look back at this someday, I will see it as a good thing. They didn’t realize they were doing me a favor.
Also they fired me over petty things, I think to make an example of me and scare everyone else into compliance. Because the thing they fired me for is something that is an issue with everyone on our team. Sucks that I was the unlucky one, but it feels good to know my coworkers are angry not only on my behalf but because they know it’s going to be a lot harder for them with me gone. I think the managers shot themselves in the foot and don’t have any idea the domino effect this will have.
