Jeff Bezos can afford it, I can't. The amount of money you have to spend to accommodate that lifesytle is makes the shift a net negative. That's why new guys get stuck with night shift. Working nights almost ripped my fucking marriage apart, it is insane how much damage it causes. I would literally walk into work every day and see someone crying and crumbling from the damage. My whole life was on pause, I didn't see the sun for three months. It ruins your mental health. Every hour you work outside 9-5 should be 1.5x pay and nights should be 2x pay. If corporations want maximised output from their business, then they gotta pay the premium for derailing peoples lives.
