So my partner and I went out for our fifth year anniversary to a nice upscale Sushi and Thai place. We actually ate a few hours prior because we decided we just want to go for sushi and maybe a drink.
The place is pretty nice and our waitress had just started at this restaurant just a couple days prior so she was still new and learning the ropes. She performed excellently giving us the perfect mix of checking in to make sure we were okay but giving us enough space for us to enjoy ourselves on our date night.
She brought us a free dessert because I believe that's customary for celebration at that restaurant in chain and she had the manager come by to give us both a few ounces of sake.
Our total bill was about $80 and some change and my partner and I were discussing what we wanted to do for the tip. I reminded her that a few months ago we decided to tip a waitress at a lower cost restaurant $50 and that really made her night so how about we try to do better tonight.
So we decided to tip $100 and we made sure that she got it we didn't want anybody trying to skim any money off of it. At first she didn't realize how much it was and then she came over to us as we were leaving and profusely thanked us.
I just hope that it really made her night and helps her achieve their goal she has in the coming days weeks and months!
