Tired of unclear PTO rules

First time poster but long time supporter. I work at a company with one of those marvelous “unlimited PTO”policies. Except my initial employer was bought out by another company and we’re still working through the complexities of that a year later. Namely, no one has ever given us clear direction on a new PTO policy. I have a super chill manager, but she’s probably given as little direction as me. I took 10/3 – 10/5 off and want to ask for 10/31 – 11/4, but am stuck in that programmed guilt that it’s “too soon.” I really haven’t taken a week off since this time last year. I also don’t have an insanely “need to be there 24/7” job. My manager would have to cover some of my emails, but other than that most of the work can be done ahead of time. I know that I’m just using time…

I took 10/3 – 10/5 off and want to ask for 10/31 – 11/4, but am stuck in that programmed guilt that it’s “too soon.”

I really haven’t taken a week off since this time last year.

I also don’t have an insanely “need to be there 24/7” job. My manager would have to cover some of my emails, but other than that most of the work can be done ahead of time.

I know that I’m just using time like I’m supposed to, but I could use support on fighting guilt.
