planning on quitting my job, but am worried my sick leave will affect me in the future.

This work has me burnt out and I plan on taking a break from working, and love from a decent savings for a while. I don't plan on coming back to this company when I'm done, however I will need a job eventually. As I will need to get a reference from my boss, I want to know if they are allowed/likely to use sickdays against me. I'm only required to provide a doctor's note if I'm sick for 3 or more days, so I plan on putting in my notice and taking my sickdays for 2 days at a time, come in for a day, then take 2 more, to just work one day a week. I have enough sick leave to do this for 3 weeks, but I will need to give my notice around the start of this time too, and with the consistency of my “sickness”…

What I don't know however is if they will use it as a point against me in a referral call from a future prospective employer. How likely is this, provided my work i have done whilst actuslly there was up to good, and has anyone done anything similar?

Apologies if this is not the correct sub for such a concern
