My workplace is forcing everyone back in office next year, non negotiable

I’ve wanted to leave for months, even thought I’ve only been here for 2+ years. That’s how bad it is. We’ve already had several good employees leave but the company isn’t getting the memo that they are fucking up and need to do better. I have to go back into the office, non negotiable, next year, all because of “collaboration” supposedly but I think it’s also to justify the fact that they spent so much damn money on a new building that no one asked for and didn’t bother to see who wanted to work in the office full time vs. at home or hybrid. I hate it here. I wouldn’t be surprised if more people leave over this. We deserve better. I’m not the only one complaining about being forced in office. I’m not the only one complaining about being forced in office. My coworkers and I are chatting about how the office space cubicle style is NOT built for introverts at all. I need quiet to work. There’s not a one size fits all workplace situation, so why we they doing it? It’s like, are you trying to make work more ineffective for people? Are you trying to lose employees again? One of my coworkers just has a baby and she’s worried about how she’s supposed to get around breastfeeding when she’s expected to be in office. That shouldn’t be a concern. If people were getting their work done, why do you care if they’re in office or not???

I ranted to one of my friends and they suggested we start a union. Another friend mentioned I could probably get disability accommodations since I’m on medication for anxiety and depression. I just hate that I have to do this at all. I’m at the point where I’m seriously considering quitting my job even if I am still looking for employment. If I can afford it I will. I’m done putting up with their bullshit. I deserve so much better than this, as do my coworkers.
