How To Convince Older Company Head To 4 Day Work Week

I’ve started loads of research and will be doing a lot more. Through some back and forth I’ve gotten close to convincing a manager, and even the director below the CEO, and addressed topics like productivity, employee retention, profits, availability to our customers, how to lean into it with small trial groups, and how we would measure if it’s successful. Basically everything from what problems it solves, benefits it brings, how is applies to our business model, and timeline. The current wall that must be breached is justifying 40 hours wage for 36 hours worked. The current wall that must be breached is justifying 40 hours wage for 36 hours worked. Fucking with the 2048 is a huge deal, and the idea of explaining that productivity will go up to make up for, or even surpass previous productivity, is not enough. They still see it as free money. In my mind you can’t say “we should pay you strictly hours worked” because the equivalent productivity we can provide is only possible under less hours because we can better avoid burnout. That in reality you aren’t budgeting for 40 hours, rather that you’re budgeting for the productivity that we previously believed took 40 hours and a five day work week to provide.

Any tips or experience with convincing older CEO’s/business heads that 36 hours (4x9hr days) should still be paid 40 if we match or even surpass the productivity that we were hired for and previously took 40 hours to achieve? The fact that one of the directors is excited motivated me in a big way, and I really want to secure this for my coworkers. Any tips or talking points are really appreciated!
