Got an email from a superior: I have a meeting where I’ll be getting in trouble this week

I suppose I’m looking for advice. I’m less than a year into a job I generally like. I work with 4 different departments and one department is run by 2 people who are both fairly passive aggressive and protective of their work. Long story short a project got messed up in some capacity and now I have to have a meeting about it on Thursday. I don’t mind admitting a mistake, but when I emailed the superior who called the meeting, they refused to elaborate on the mistake. This is frustrating as it means I might have outstanding mistakes that I’ll waste a day not correcting because this person doesn’t like sending emails. How can I flip the script on this person in a professional way? I’m not looking to get into a big fight, but I would really love if I could stop them in their tracks before the…
