Manager called me when I was on my way to work to tell me my schedule got changed last minute

My mom drives me to work everyday after school because I’m 16 years old and I don’t have my license yet (but I’m working on it). And gas is already really really expensive. Last week when we were almost at work my manager called me and said “hey so you’re going to be working 6-closing tonight instead of 2-6” and let me remind you this was probably around 1:40 at this point. I tried explaining to her that we were low on gas and that I just couldn’t afford to go back home at then make another few trips later and she just said “well you still have to work today” and I said yes I understand but gas is bad. She ended up pressuring me and giving me a ride home later that night but I’m just curious if that’s even legal?!? Plus her reasoning was that labor hours…

Plus her reasoning was that labor hours were too high but I ended up working almost 5 hours (which is actually against my work permit). I’m just wondering what everyone else thinks about this?
