Return to office – or be outsourced??

It strikes me as total contradiction in this current trend to require employees back in the office to threaten them with the sack because 'they can replace them with someone cheaper offshore.' Am I the only one that thinks that if companies really can't survive without employees turning up to the office, then this is a perfect opportunity for employees should use their collective power to demand higher wages and better conditions?
