I’m a new employee, when i was hired there was no talk about dress code or CAMERAS in the office. I got a phone call from my boss today saying that they watched the camera in our office (that i was never made aware of) and asked me why i wore sneakers and a sweatshirt over my dress shirt. I explained to her that no one made me aware that i couldn’t wear sneakers and i was cold so i kept my zip up on. They proceeded to tell me that i need to go and purchase new clothing and new shoes in order to continue my employment.
I have no problem with the clothing policy. I do however have a problem with you calling me on my day off to tell me about my clothing and that y’all watched my every move and listened to everything i did all day and apparently this is an everyday thing. Now i’m super paranoid to have personal conversations with the other people in my office in fear that something will be held against me.
I just started and I already want to quit.
