Is my hourly pay job allowed to make a mandatory meeting outside of company hours?

My employer wants to do a mandatory meeting at a restaurant or a bar after work to hash out some issues we’re having. I’m not really against a meeting but I don’t really want to go to a bar with my coworkers or work later than I have to. I’m not on a salary so can it even be considered mandatory? I know I could call in sick but I don’t really want to ruffle any feathers. Thanks in advance!
