My boss asked me to cover a shift the day after I had surgery…

A couple weeks ago, I told one of my bosses that I had booked an appointment to have my wisdom teeth removed due to excruciating pain. I told her that I needed to book off the day of the surgery as well as the following two days for recovery. She said it would be no problem and that she would make sure I got those days off, which she did. A few hours after my wisdom teeth were removed yesterday, I received a message from one of my other bosses. He told me that my coworker left work early because she was not feeling well and that she would likely need her shift covered today. After acknowledging that I booked today off for recovery, he asked me if it would be possible for me to cover her shift—which is over 9 hours long with zero breaks, and which centres around…

He told me that my coworker left work early because she was not feeling well and that she would likely need her shift covered today. After acknowledging that I booked today off for recovery, he asked me if it would be possible for me to cover her shift—which is over 9 hours long with zero breaks, and which centres around speaking to customers. I told him no, I’m in a lot of fucking pain and I can’t speak or even eat properly due to the swelling.

I’m already looking for a new job.
