Finishing out my notice this week and have never felt so free. It’s been 10 years and after all of the abuse, I finally had enough.
Put in my notice and boss told me he was “blindsided, felt betrayed, and was in shock.” Even though I had been expressing concerns about the lack of boundaries, lack of leadership, and lack of overall communication for months.
Boss said he would see about a counter offer to keep me. Explained I wasn’t sure it would change anything since there were other issues that money wouldn’t solve. He came back and said “we decided you don’t deserve a counter offer. But if you stay, we will double your raise, if you get one next year.”
I clearly made the right choice!
