All of this was made with food I rescued from bins. I gave away tons to my neighbours and we decided to make apple crumble together tonight. We made a total of 3 pies. The rescue took less then 15 min.
Keep in mind it’s not illegal as it becomes public property if they throw it out.
Dress business casual and you won’t get harassed as much although you likely will experience classism. I’ve had ppl say I don’t look homeless and even ppl be nice to me only “because u don’t look like you need it”. Some have been rude about it implying that I shouldn’t be going through trashed dressed nicely etc. I usually tell them to mind their own business and I’m not interested in socializing with classist idiots.
Go at night. After closing is best.
Clean up after yourself. Don’t leave a mess as they likely will make their barely above minimum wage employees clean the area. This is usually how they conduct wage theft on these workers. It’s sad because they are over burdened with tasks then told to clean up. And then fired if they clock out late often.
