People are sucking up to a system that kills them

I posted the following about my company in Japan, and some asshole decided to defend it… how do people like this wake up in the morning? My post: Is it possible to anonymously report your company for labor violations? A very significant percentage of my old fashioned traditional Japanese company sign out at a specified time, and then just go back and continue working at their desk into the night. It’s all unpaid, unrecorded time. Is there any way that a labor board could do a surprise inspection without warning, etc? I know they’d try to cover it all up if there was any warning, and I want these practices to stop. Their reply: Why do you care? Because it makes you feel inferior to them as you don't do overtime? If so, this is your problem, not theirs. Because you feel an obligation to be the white armor knight…

Their reply:

Why do you care? Because it makes you feel inferior to them as you don't do overtime?
If so, this is your problem, not theirs.
Because you feel an obligation to be the white armor knight helping the authority to enforce the law? Well, I call that a snitch, so long as the boss doesn't force overtime.
If your boss forces you to overtime, then it's a different story.
