Currently job searching, which is getting frustrating on its own. I've probably submitted over 50 applications since I quit and I've only gotten 2 calls for interviews. For all these companies to say they're understaffed and urgently hiring, it really doesn't seem like it.
But anyway. I was called and we had our interview on 1/24. I really want this job, it's a perfect fit and pays more than my last job. It went well and they said I was more than qualified for the position. They told me that they'd have their decision made by the end of that week since they had a couple more interviews and they'd either email me if I wasn't selected or call me if I did get it. I really appreciated it because I hate when employers just ghost you after an application. Just let me know if I'm not selected, right.
A week passed, no response. I decided to call them to check in and thank them for the opportunity. They said they had another interview and would let me know by the end of that week. Okay, sure.
Another week has passed. No response. I've literally been checking every email I've gotten to make sure I haven't missed it. Still nothing. I called again Monday and she said that they've been busy and short staffed but should have a decision by the next day (yesterday). Awesome!
I still didn't hear anything from them yesterday. I'm getting a little irritated. I've been holding back on another interview and applications because I've been waiting for this answer. At this point, even a rejection would be fine. Just let me know so I can move on.
Is this normal? Over two weeks for a decision? If I don't hear from them today, I'm thinking of calling tomorrow. How can I politely tell them to please hurry up and give me an answer? Or is that not appropriate.
Thanks, I just wanted to rant a little. Everyone was telling me that everyone was hiring and there was a workers shortage, I didn't think it would be quite so difficult to find a new job. But whatever. Anyway, have nice day to whoever reads this
