I’ve (24F) moved states and cities a lot and therefore have had my fair share of jobs here and there. I thrive in a customer service setting, but I notice that some employers will call me out for “job hopping” while conducting an interview. Once Covid happened, it was obvious a lot of folks were either tired of their mediocre job so did something else or were having trouble finding work that pays well. I’ve had a long mental health history as well and have left a couple of jobs due to my anxiety and depression (ex. Having ptsd/panic attacks/episodes that caused me to call out of work and eventually be fired because of it).
What the fuck can I do at this point? I want consistent and stable work that pays well and respects me as a human being but that seems like too much for some employers. They want someone who is basically going to give their whole life to the job and stay regardless of what is going on in their personal life. I feel like I don’t owe anyone an explanation. Life happens. You move. You change. You have ruts. I try to stay positive most days I’m at work but when it’s minimum wage and I’m pulling my hair out unable to pay my rent and bills on time it’s kind of hard to want to not find something better. I deserve better. We all do. So what’s the deal?
