Why aren’t businesses responsible for supporting workers working from home?

I know that my company, which is quite small, is saving more than 7k a month after moving everyone to WFH. They don’t pay for rent, parking, utilities, or anything and instead I need to turn my living space into an extension of their office. Moreover, we now have bachelor apartments costing over 1400 in this area. So plenty of people basically live in their “office”. We know they are saving on money, so there should be a customary compensation for employees. Similar to a per diem, if we’re forced to have the space, utilities, etc. there should be support. I think employees should receive 300 a month, tax free to help support their work from home environment. This would help someone move from a bachelor to a 1 bedroom, a young couple from a 2 bedroom to a bungalow (if they both get it). That would provide us the…

The company should not have to pay any tax on that and be able join a government list of Certified WFH Employers.
