The rota for shift leaders at my job was updated about 6 months ago because, according to our management team, it “relied too heavily on goodwill”.
Previously 1 manager per shift, now 2 – but the supposed pro of this is that 1 of those can take weekend holiday.
I’m now due to work the full weekend. This wouldn’t be a problem, except for the fact that my husband is really sick with Covid which hit him overnight, and unable to look after his daughter, who’s with us this weekend. Her mum and stepdad are both working, and because my husband has Covid, my stepdaughter probably does too, and so I can’t use childcare outside of her core parenting team for fear of spreading it to anyone else.
I’ve messaged all other members of our team, and my boss. None of them have replied, it’s now one hour till my shift is due to start. Let’s see what happens…
