Depression due to work and getting out of it

Educational years= full of potential ahead of us, daily meeting friends, so much fun. Then work life. As a younger person I saw the meme “eat, sleep, work & die” and it scared me coz I had watched many older people then me as a kid living kind of that life, but I ignored them of course coz I would become a successful Hollywood type story. Now 9 years of a well paid job, high status. But also 2 years of night shift. I did these 9 years and honestly felt something break in me. Since costumer service was important I became brainwashed to be a betamale, the opposite of who I was before. Always being nice and people pleaser. Also realizing work is being stuck with these same people for the rest of your life in this same space, oh the monotony of it all. No I want to move, action, change.

People don't believe me when I cite work as a major source to the depression I developed, coz we are so brainwashed to think everything work related is positive. I took drugs just to cope with being “social, friendly and and aim to please”. Furthermore I come from a philosophical background, open to many things, like to travel, spiritual and at work I saw such low level existential goals, people and states of being. If this was life in outta here.

But now few years later, I work part time. I side hustle. I follow my place interests. I choose the things I love and I've grown in my manlyness and stability. You can too for sure, or maybe you have experienced something similar.

Stay blessed!
