Effectively using the 'notwithstanding clause'( the ability ,when invoked by a Canadian leader, they can pass an emergency bill for the purpose of helping canadians) the Ford government has passed a bill forcing educational workers back to work with a wage increase with no collective bargaining at all. They have refused to bargain with union leaders, refused to give employees a raise that is in line with inflation and in line with a livable wage after freezing their wages for the last 9 years. In Canada it is in our charter of rights and freedoms that we have the right to collectively bargain with an employer however Premier Doug Ford and Education Minister Steven Lecce have lied and refused to work with unions. I'm mad, sorry if this seems ranty but I am Fucking infuriated from the right wing conservative ideology behind all of this. I'm infuriated by the ignorance of il informed people who think the people striking are teachers. CUPE is now not even in a strike action, they've effectively walked off the job with no strike pay and now will be fined 4000$ a day that they don't return to work. Fuck the conservatives.
