Previous post removed due to low effort. As follows:
For some time I have provided weekend service for repairs. These are rarely needed but are part of a goodwill gesture. Over time, people began to rely on this reoccurrence. And, over time, it has become apparent to me that other people involved in this service would pretty much have to get paid to be involved. We’re not talking lots of money, just basic repair services.
Now, I’m too busy to spare my precious free time, and I tried to extricate myself by planning for my absence, scheduled for the day of this particular event in question, in advance. This was ignored until, last minute, and another repair person had to be scheduled for a fee. After this was accommodated for so easily, I realized how much time I had, unintentionally, donated. In short, there are funds available but nobody mentioned it to me.
Don’t do work for free. Whether it’s money or food or whatever, just try to trade your time for something that replaces it with at least equal, hopefully greater, return.
