anyone else feel like the capitalists have grown even more cynical during the pandemic?

I don’t know if I’m biased because I moved in the middle of the pandemic & I’m disabled (and working), but I feel like the bosses have grown more audacious with their cruelty and cynicism to employees over the pandemic. I can’t put my finger on what makes me think this. But it seems they’re so much less tolerant of employees needs. I just got fired from a job where they insisted that would not happen & that I was doing great. They were the nicest bosses I’d ever had—which, by extension, makes them the most cynical and callous because they fired me with no warning.
