I recently quit my corporate management job. I don't want to get into too much detail, but my previous job was very demanding with practically no rewards. I was entitled to pretty significant bonuses that I never ended up getting. I worked there until the point of burn-out, but I'm super excited to share that last week, after almost a year of hard work, I launched my own company. It feels so good to be self-employed, and to finally work on what I really love and am inspired by – music.
For those interested, I have been playing guitar pretty much my entire life. I always saw it as a “hobby”, yet music was the one thing that I loved more than anything else. The company is called Wheel of Fifths. It is an online community for musicians. I'm sharing free music and music theory lessons on my blog, and I'm selling a product that I developed for learning music theory. It is so much fun, I can't wait for this new chapter in my life! And more than anything it feels great to leave the corporate world behind.
