My work just had a Q&A meeting for the people in my building, and amongst them, a young woman asked if we would get salary/pay adjustments to keep up with inflation. The Senior VP told her the company can’t afford it. Meanwhile there was a Maserati parked outside directly in my view.
Last year the same VP was spotted pulling up in a Maserati to a meeting to tell us my whole department was getting outsourced, being dissolved and we would be getting laid off in phases over the coming years.
My layoff is the beginning of January and I’m counting the days.
