I work in healthcare (not licensed) and spend more time driving than actually working due to the distances of facilities I go to.
A couple months ago I got so fed up with this company that I sent in a resignation. The CEO called me and said he’d double my pay to stay. I confirmed that there was no fine print or parameters but that the decided amount would be added to my typical paycheck going forward. So I stayed.
Fast forward to today, I get a call from one of the higher ups saying that the CEO said I would only get that amount until we reached certain company goals. This was incorrect and the guy who called me also knew it was incorrect.
It hard to explain this situation without specifics but I feel like it’s easy to understand why I’m upset. I’m so upset that I want to quit and just move on with my life. But I can’t because, as a college student a month away from graduation, I need that money. Between how disorganized this company is and how detached from reality management can be I’m so done.
I have gone through 3 cars in the past year with this company because I drive anywhere from 10-15 hours in a week just getting to and getting home from work. They do not pay by mileage. They do not compensate me for wear and tear to my car. On top of that I am putting myself at risk with COVID patients. When I was given that extra money I had to call and wait over a week until I would receive it. It’s like they hoped I would just forget so they didn’t have to do it. Now they’re backing out and taking advantage of the fact that I have no other choice.
It’s taking everything for me to want to go to work on Monday. But how am I supposed to feel good about driving to work in a broke down car knowing I’m getting ripped off?
Simply venting so I apologize if this doesn’t make sense.
