Not All Bad

My current job I work in a school as support staff. I was previously working industry and fulfilled a few contracts with the school. My current job I work in a school as support staff. I was previously working industry and fulfilled a few contracts with the school.

The opportunity came for them to have a full time position for that role and offered to me before they advertised. At the interview they outlined the role, told me the pay rate, and gave me a copy of the publically available enterprise agreement (contract with all employees).

I get a 1.5% COL increase every 6 months, and my pay bracket moves up after 1 year with the company. This is the maximum pay allowed in this band. (2 pay brackets within each pay band)

After 2 years with the company I and the other person in my department were told that since we were essentially self managing, that we were getting pushed up a pay band, which allows 1 more increase.

These pay increases are in addition to COL increases at 1.5% per 6 months.

I get 4 weeks annual leave, 10 days sick leave, and any overtime I work I can bank and take off more paid leave.

Also, since I earn less now than when I was in industry, I'm allowed to take unpaid leave to take industry contracts as long as it doesn't intervene with the school operations.
