rant about my job

I'm livid with my employer they are the “top employer in my area” according to the news and everyone but it's a load of crap. I work in aircraft, structures, on sheet metal. And I work on the Boeing 737 line. We build 230 million dollar aircraft each one is worth a fat penny. I am a very highly skilled employee, work in final assembly. Meaning when I finish my job, that's exactly how my spot on the aircraft is going to fly. On a daily basis, I have 200 peoples lives in my hands. With that said quality standards are insane, everything is built extremely precisely, at a very very high level. Can't go into much detail as almost everything I do has classified parts to it… but that's what I can say to describe the level of skill, and responsibility I have, every job I touch for the…

Can't go into much detail as almost everything I do has classified parts to it… but that's what I can say to describe the level of skill, and responsibility I have, every job I touch for the next 40 years I'm liable for and can be criminally prosecuted for any mistake. I'm good at my job, very very good.

But a few weeks ago, I went to a steakhouse, served by this waitress, 17 years old, was planning a tip, left 20$ for a 50$ meal, but ended up asking her what she normally got in tips…. at 17 years old no experience, she averaged 27-32$/hr. I'm over here making 17$/hr working on a 230$ million aircraft, have a very highly skilled level of experience, many many years perfecting my craft, all this liability, all this stress every day… and some 17 year old, is almost doubling my wages in high school.

This is complete bull shit. I have a little over a year left before I hit my years and am vested and entitled to a portion of my retirement benefits for the company. Then I'm gone, f this crap.

If anybody knows aircraft, a decent city/wage/company to look for lmk… but mostly just complaining about how ate up and greedy these cooperate fools be.

Is anybody else doing something similar, have a very solid trade but getting screwed? By a cheap ass company?
