My dad bought into this hard. His parents pounded it into his head because they grew up in nazi occupied Greece, my grandmother only had one toy her entire childhood. They even bought his sister a car so she would go.
He got a white collar job and made a decent living. He still doesn't understand the current economy and a college degree doesn't mean much anymore. I have a college degree and a union government job and cant afford to move out.
Is this a boomer mentality or is this something that millenials and Gen z ers still believe?
