Better boundaries during notice period

I (21F) put in my notice last week as a property manager at elderly apartment complexes. Friday is my official last working day. I realized while in this notice period, it's been so much easier for me to set and maintain my boundaries and not over-extend myself, as before I was afraid to lose my job or rapport with my residents. I realized while in this notice period, it's been so much easier for me to set and maintain my boundaries and not over-extend myself, as before I was afraid to lose my job or rapport with my residents. In this week alone I've made huge strides in setting my boundaries, I told my bosses that I'm not going to be a part of their hiring process, I told them who should take my place too. I have had 3 or 4 non urgent calls or texts from residents this weekend and have told each of them that I'm not working right now, I'll get back to you later. I've also been able to tell residents when something is not priority for me, and to leave those things alone, and have told a resident off this week too.

My work has been better as a result of this, it's easier to get things done and I'm actually doing well for once. Ironic.
