So a Kitchen Team Leader at my pub was recently sacked, for being late whilst still on a disciplinary.
They're one of the best employees we had, and were fired by the Pub Manager without them even consulting the Kitchen manager.
It just goes to show how little they care about us. Because not only has someone lost their job, but the other employees are now suffering because we've lost one of our best co-workers. The pub manager didn't even consult the kitchen manager, so they were taken completely by surprise, and we're now short staffed for the next coupe of weeks because the rota's were already done.
It's made worse by the fact that the firing is most likely racially motivated (Person Fired is a POC, and the pub manager is known to have literally blurted out the n word)
I'm so sick of living like this, but it's so hard to get a job where your employer actually respects you.
