Leaving due to underpayment, advertising role for significantly more

I shall keep this vague. I work in the UK in quite a niche field. The level of pay is dictated by the amount of responsibility for your role. I have been asking for a review for a while and being ignored. After an unpleasant appraisal, I updated my CV and sent it out there. I was immediately contacted by recruiters and offered a new job at significantly more. Handed my notice in (shocked pikachu faces). They are now re advertising at a much higher level than I was asking for. People – the moral of the story is, know your worth
