Chemist at my company for 5 years. My group had a bad feeling early last week when we got an undescribed meeting invite from our boss. Walked in Thursday to him and HR walking in with folders, knew it was the really bad type of meeting. Find out all of us are laid off as of December 31st, but they expect us to work as if nothing has changed until then. Gotta say, they had treated me poorly in the title and salary for the past year since silent promoting me to do the job the previous lead chemist III did, so now it makes sense they were so adamant about giving me a raise.
Cannot muster the fucks to give when I get an email asking me to solve a customer's issue. Productivity has dropped to about 1%. I'll do the bare minimum just to say I did something at work, but that's it.
