I quit my job to take a lower paying job for my mental health. did I make the right choice?

Im a 32 year old man. I currently work for a small family-owned property management company in the U.S. . My job consists mostly of processing applications for subsidized housing, and recertification of tenants in subsidized housing. After 4 months in this job, I just took a different job with a slight pay cut but slightly better benefits to go mop floors at my local hospital. I guess the reasons why I quit are as follows. Too much family drama nonsense. It exacerbated my anxiety to the point I called my doctor to upgrade my anxiety meds because the job was too much for my mental health.

  1. Too much family drama nonsense. It exacerbated my anxiety to the point I called my doctor to upgrade my anxiety meds because the job was too much for my mental health. The anxiety I felt impacted my ability to do the job as a whole. And honestly, these last 2 weeks. I was on the precipice of getting fired anyways.
  2. No future or career path upwards at the company if I wanted(unless I was to marry into the family lol)
  3. The whole property management system is morally gross. Rich people/corporations buying and hoarding land using government funds in part. And then using government funds to gatekeep housing from disabled people.
  4. I felt way too much guilt about some of the applicants I've had to deny housing too.

I hope I made the right choice. I told my mom and she screamed at me. I told her this was just temporary. But didn't tell her well, Just about everything I've said here.
