I am in ohio and am looking for a sales position. I am disabled and am perscribed medical marijuana (and have a medical marijuana card as part of the state program).
The laws in ohio mean that employers are allowed to fire or refuse to hire me if I test positive for marijuana on a drug test, despite it being prescribed by a doctor.
I am not functional enough to work (or live) without it so it is not an option to stop taking it. I take it once a day at night, before bed. I do not take it during the day and it does not affect me during the day.
I'm not sure how to handle this situation- should I refuse to take a pre employment drug test? Should I be honest about it and hope it doesn't disqualify me? I have already tried to fake it once with someone else's pee, and it didn't work.
What do I do??
