isn’t the whole purpose of allowing billionaires to exist in our society is because “they create jobs”?

So why is the republican nation who defend this idea so voraciously applauding the loss of tens of thousands of tech jobs because a billionaire says “I did it for the lulz”? Isn't this the opposite of what they peddle?
