Ive been in an entry level position for 10 months at my current job. I was told initially that when I get a certain certificate, I'd go full time, with a raise to 26 an hour. (I'm making 21 right now) Ive gotten that certificate a long time ago (on the 3rd month of being here to be exact) yet ive only been given full time hours, no raise until I pass “an evaluation”. Keep in mind its an evaluation nobody else has had to take in the history of the company for the position..I do my job well, literally all of my co workers found the mention of an evaluation absurd when Im doing the same work/hours as them but getting paid less for it. Anyway, Its been a month since I failed the evaluation (I was asked questions that are too advanced for the position Im trying to get, questions not even those who have the position knew when I asked them myself) and they haven't told me an evaluation date despite me asking various times. To make it worse I was shown by HR that they want to lower it to 25 an hour despite telling me 26 face to face. Am I experiencing the lower end of favoritism? I would like to mention Im the only type of a race and age here to back up my feeling on that. My boss doesnt even make eye contact with me nor is willing to answer questions when I need help yet is interactive with those of the other entry level positions I got hired around the same time with. I dont know if I should just gather up my experience and go elsewhere, Id love to hear what anybody else would do.
